Savannah Cat
Repainting the picture of women of a certain age living alone with cats is the Savannah, a feisty hybrid that's the offspring of an African serval wildcat and a domestic house cat. Aggressively sought after by the trendy set and outlawed by some localities, the ~35 pounder resembles a small leopard, loves water and will walk on a leash. (As reported today in ThursdayStyles of The New York Times, including picture below.)
