The Goldenbleu partners started their handbag company because they "wanted a line that was superluxe without being ridiculously expensive".  It looks as though they did it!  Collections feature creative designs sold five times per year made of high-quality lamb skins and Italian hardware.  Available at Intermix, Fred Segal and Shopping Allure.

Juicy Goes Couture

Juicy Couture has revolutionized terry cloth, added accessories, and decorated a Sidekick.  Now, the company is focusing on the "Couture" portion of its name with a line called, "Couture Couture".  WWD reports that notable pieces include a pleated silk ballerina skirt, a linen and steel silver suit, a silk viscose tank and a jewel-encrusted linen dress.  The collection will launch for Spring 2006 at top specialty and department stores.

      

Kate Spade Sample Sale

The now-ubiquitous designer is selling her bags, shoes and small leather goods at a deep discount at the Kate Spade Sample Sale.  Only through tomorrow, November 3rd.

Barneys Made-to-Measure

This month, Barneys New York introduces "Made-to-Measure" for men.  Custom-made shoes and dress shirts are available.

Davis shoes

When a marketing executive from Ugg, Simple and Reebok goes out on her own, you know it will be interesting.  Buth Ruthie Davis' new line, Davis, is sporty, dressy and fashionable, and very high-tech.   Titanium and carbon fiber create high heels and wedges that are both strong and lightweight.  The unique look is finished off with metallic, patent leather and rubber.

New Shop in NYC

Emerge NYC, below (in a New York Times photo), is said to be a new concept in department store shopping.  Each brand is the focus of a booth or display case.  The catch is that these aren't established brands, and instead are the creations of emerging designers.  Nothing has been mass-produced (designers are sometimes working away on-site) and apparel, accessories, art, cosmetics, flowers and limited-edition books are included in the offerings.

K.I.D.S. Carrier

The Kelty Pathfinder K.I.D.S. Carrier has a padded back panel that fits the shape pf any adult body while comfortably holding kids up to forty pounds.  Like Kelty's real hiking gear, the pack has a sternum strap and thick waist belt to shift some of the pressure off of the back.  A pouch that zips out of the back of the pack carries diapers and toys.
